Red Arrow Gallery Exhibits Bret Philpot Through April 1

"Bret Philpot: 15 Years" continues at Red Arrow Gallery through April 1.

Philpot is a treasured desert artist. Currently residing in Palm Springs, but always retaining a creative home front in Joshua Tree, Philpot is exhibiting his fourth Red Arrow show of paintings entitled '15 Years.'

Philpot says, “15 Years is not about the psyche of paintings as a whole. It is not a retrospective of the last 15 years. It is me, Philpot, exactly where I am a creatively 15 years to the month after I began this journey.”

His journey, enormously supported by the high-desert community, provided a strong foundation for recent national recognition that is both inspiring and encouraging to fellow artists.

At the exhibit's February 11 opening, a huge crowd gathered for the reception of "Bret Philpot: 15 Years" and the Red Arrow’s 5-year anniversary. Since then more than half of Philpot’s paintings have sold; three have been purchased by museum curators, two will be living in a Children’s Mental Health Facility on the East Coast, and others have found homes in Joshua Tree, San Francisco, Minnesota, and Tennessee. That’s a boon for any artist, particularly in a rural location faced with a challenged economy.
